How We Work
OSC is built around a simple principle: senior people do the work.
Engagements are led by a credentialed practitioner who stays with you from assessment through remediation. Behind that lead, we assemble specialists matched to your environment — Microsoft 365 and GCC High engineers, network and OT architects, documentation and evidence leads, and assessment support. Every role is filled by someone certified for that specific work, whether that is a Cyber AB credential for compliance or a Microsoft, Cisco, or vendor certification for technical delivery.
This structure lets us move at the pace of a small firm while bringing the range of a much larger one. You are never handed to an account manager, and you never pay for someone to learn your industry.
Leadership
Kevin Long is a veteran entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in the manufacturing sector. As the founder and CEO of Operational Security Consulting (OSC), a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Kevin leads the firm’s compliance and advisory practice and directs its most sensitive engagements. Under his leadership, OSC delivers cybersecurity and compliance programs to government and commercial clients nationwide.
Kevin has a proven track record of optimizing manufacturing operations through process improvements, systems integration, and operational technology (OT) advancements. His expertise extends to leading teams in the implementation of NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC compliance, ensuring that organizations within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) meet stringent security requirements.
OSC is trusted to guide clients through the complexities of security and compliance, particularly in industries handling sensitive and classified information. Kevin’s leadership has driven the successful implementation of multiple ERP systems, further demonstrating his ability to align technology with business strategy.
Kevin holds the Cyber AB Lead CMMC Certified Assessor (LCCA), Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA), and Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) credentials, along with CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). His broader certification history includes Microsoft MCSE, ITAM III, ITAC III, and CompTIA A+. He maintains an active Secret clearance.
